We had a cold winter to deal with and we had an oil spill in the
spring, things just didn't look very good. The fishing was as
good as I've seen it in 20 years. There were lots big Redfish in
the Spring and the Fall. The Mackerel run started and the fish
just kept on coming. The Trout spawn started in May and went all
the way to the end of June. The phone kept ringing and the
people kept coming. When September came it never slow down.
It was one of the best years the Sarasota area has seen in a long
time. Book your trips early for the coming year so you get to date
you're looking for.

Mark Greb and his son Jack went fishing in the Gulf of Mexico
today just off Lido key. We were fishing and 40 feet of water and
caught plenty of Sheepshead, Key West grunt and grouper.

Jerry and Joel Schemmel went fishing in Sarasota Bay this
afternoon. We caught Black Drum, Sheepshead and Flounder.
The wind was blowing pretty hard, but fish were still out there.

Jim and Karen Hovland along with their cousin Dave Nott went
fishing in Sarasota Bay today.The Morning temperature was very
cold. It was about 36° when we started. The fish were still there,
and they were hungry. Karen caught the first fish and posted it
on her Facebook account right away. We moved into a new spot,
and Dave caught his first fish of the morning. Jim however was
not to be denied. He landed a 33 inch redfish, that weighed just
over 13 pounds.

Gaylen Miller and his band of merry men from the midwest midas
division went fishing with me this morning in Sarasota Bay. Thing
started out slow. But as the day heated up so did the fishing. We
ended up with Sheepshead, Black drum and Redfish. Steve had
the catch of the day with a 27 inch Redfish for their fish fry on
Monday night.

Nathan Habhab from St. Louis, Missouri went fishing in Sarasota
Bay today. There were plenty of Sheepshead, Black Drum and
Trout to be caught.The weather has been getting nicer, and
there are plenty of fish to be caught. February, March and April

Vic Isbell long with his two friends. Went fishing in Sarasota Bay
today. The weather was fantastic, and we found redfish on
several of the docs that we went to.

Marty Vogt and his two sons went fishing today in Sarasota
Bay.There were plenty of Sheepshead to be caught along with
some small redfish, and trout. The catch of the day went to the
youngest son, who caught 25 inch redfish.

Burt Gold, along with his grandkids and son in law went fishing
in the Gulf of Mexico just off Lido beach. There were plenty of
Sheepshead and Key West grunt to be caught. We also found
Spanish mackerel. They are starting a little bit early this year.

Patrick Weyers along with his three daughters Katie, Erin and
Magon went fishing in the Gulf of Mexico today just off Lido
key.The weather was great and we headed out about 8 miles
offshore. There were plenty of Sheepshead, Key West grunt and
small grouper. Katie had the catch of the day with a nice
sheepshead. She is due to have her third child in July and can't
wait to have a little boy so she can have a fishing buddy.

Mark Heissler from Canada went fishing in Sarasota Bay today
with me. There have been plenty of Spanish mackerel,
Sheepshead, Lady fish and Redfish on all of our trips. Mark
managed to land this nice 28 inch redfish, on his outing.

John and Kathy Fuson from Crestline, Ohio were fishing with
me in big Sarasota Bay this morning. There were plenty of
Spanish mackerel and lady fish on the open grass flats. We
also caught Sheepshead around the docks. Kathy had to catch
of the day with a 17 inch flounder.

Owen Miller a long with his friends Ike and Betty and her
grandson Chris went fishing in Sarasota Bay today. There were
plenty of Sheepshead to be caught, Spanish mackerel, and

today. There were plenty of Sheepshead and Spanish mackerel
to be caught. The waters are getting warmer and the weather

Troy Sachsenmaier and Amber Lind went fishing this morning
in Sarasota Bay.The bite was on Troy and Amber landed
several species of fish Trout, Spanish mackerel, Lady fish,
Flounder, Redfish, Sheepshead, Mangrove snapper and many
more species. Amber had the fish of the day with a nice
mangrove snapper.

John and Sherri Berry went fishing in Sarasota Bay this
morning. The inshore bite was on, and there was plenty of
trout and Spanish mackerel to be caught John Sherri caught

Jim and Evonne Marko from Bradenton Florida went fishing
this afternoon on Sarasota bay. The afternoon bite was hot
again and plenty of sea trout and Spanish mackerel were
brought to the boat. Jim had the catch of the day with a trout
at 20 inches.

Sam Fisher along with his friends from Wisconsin, went  
fishing in Sarasota Bay today. There were lots of trout,
Spanish mackerel and small sharks. Sam had the catch of the

Seth and Josh Murauskas , along with John Albert and Larry
case. Were fishing in Sarasota Bay today the bite started a
little slow, but the trout showed up in good numbers. Larry
had the catch of the day with a 21 inch trout.

Doug and Evelyn Church from Georgia, went fishing today in
Sarasota Bay.The weather was very nice and the wind
subsided for a while. When the wind came back up the bite
turned on, and Doug had three very nice trout that he
landed the largest one was 23 inches.

Michael Hughes went fishing offshore in the Gulf of Mexico
off Lido key today. The winds were calm and the seas were
flat.There were plenty of Spanish mackerel, King mackerel
and Large Barracuda to be caught. Michael landed is very
nice Barracuda.

Robert, Joe and Ann went fishing today in Sarasota Bay.
The Spanish mackerel in the trout were biting. Robert

Rick Thompson went fishing offshore today for the
Goliath grouper. We broke two off and landed two. The
biggest one of the day was 256 pounds.

Darryl, Ariel and John went fishing, offshore In the Gulf
of Mexico, hunting for Goliath grouper. John hooked
up first and the line quickly broke. Ariel hooked up in
the battle was on he finally brought it to the boat. He
was 85 inches long and 68 inches around it calculated
out to be 491 pounds.

Paul Hargreaves and his son Ian from the UK went
fishing today in Sarasota Bay. There were plenty of fish
to be caught and the trout bite was on. Paul had to

morning in Sarasota Bay with his friends. Catching
was steady all morning and Sam managed a 26 inch

Jeff Fosco and his boys went fishing in Sarasota Bay
today. The Sarasota offshore Grand Prix was running
that day, and the fish were still biting even though
the boat traffic was heavy. Jeff caught a nice spotted
seatrout, for his effort.

Bay this afternoon. Rain was threatening but we did
manage to get a couple of hours in. Ashley out
fished her husband and landed some nice
mangrove snapper.

Allan Godshall at his girlfriend Tiffany went fishing
in Sarasota Bay today. The trout and the bluefish
bite was pretty good all day. This was Tiffany's first
time out In the boat. She perfected her casting
skills and did very well for a first timer.
